Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable patients with acute and chronic trauma needs
  • Care for patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical/procedural services
  • Administer and monitor IV drips; drip competency is required on all floors
  • Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs (where assigned)
  • Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses as directed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or a compact state (pending Nebraska RN license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with experience in a large, urban hospital setting required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting required
  • IV drip administration experience required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of prior travel experience)
  • Background in trauma, medical/surgical, or telemetry nursing
  • Familiarity with high-acuity, complex patient populations
