Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing
  • Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
  • Performs health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment directly to patients or through delegation and supervision of others
  • Executes delegated medical functions, reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans, and refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
  • Documents care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need, and may be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum) is required
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required
  • ACLS, NRP, or PALS certification as appropriate for the unit or service
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
  • Unit or service-appropriate specialty certification is preferred
