Description:
Assess and reassess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient goals.
Provide patient care based on standards of care, practice protocols, and established policies and procedures.
Respect each patient as an individual, fostering a sense of dignity and positive self-regard.
Provide patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs and readiness to learn.
Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems and resources.
Appropriately delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others.
Prioritize patient care by seeking assistance from appropriate resources as needed.
Recognize the need for emergency intervention and reassign personnel as necessary.
Provide thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all pertinent data and patient responses.
Deliver timely and thorough reports on assigned patients to ensure continuity of care.
Promote learning for colleagues and self by functioning as a preceptor or instructor.
Proactively identify risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce healthcare errors.
Identify ethical issues in care and develop plans to address them.
Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy according to physician orders.
Assess patient pain levels upon admission and reassess as necessary based on diagnosis.
Document assessments and patients' responses to medication.
Complete required documentation related to medication reconciliation for provider use.
Interpret and document patient cardiac rate and rhythm, initiating treatment plans as needed.
Provide ongoing assessment and teaching to surgical patients and families.
Recognize normal and deviant progress patterns, reporting concerns to physicians promptly.
Utilize pain management devices and techniques to ensure effective pain relief.
Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment related to surgical patients.
