Job Title: Med-Surg Adult Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current state nursing license Certifications: Current NIHSS and CPR/BLS certifications Must-Have: Education verification required Description: We are seeking experienced nurses. Candidates must have a current state nursing license, NIHSS, and CPR/BLS certifications. This position primarily involves caring for patients in an Adult Surgical Unit, with a few pediatric patient beds. Travel Registered Nurses may be required to float to other units. The role requires working every other weekend and holiday, with shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws. Documents according to standards of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise to guide other units or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care. Applies critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns to the appropriate chain of command as needed. Holiday coverage may be required.
