Description:
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit.
The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients.
Expected nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night.
The unit typically handles patients with stroke, spine, and neuro trauma, as well as general medical-surgical cases.
Nurses may be required to float to other units as needed.
Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.
Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule.
The unit requires competency in moderate oxygen needs management.
There are nurse aides on the unit with a ratio of 1:12.
A nurse is not required to titrate drips, but must be familiar with common medications such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
The charting system used is EPIC.
This role includes holiday shift requirements and potential floating based on departmental needs.
