Description:
Candidates must have strong experience in medical surgical nursing.
We care for a diverse patient population with a range of diagnoses.
Chronic illnesses managed include COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease.
We address GI issues such as pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
Infection management involves conditions like pneumonia, cellulitis, and sepsis.
Neurological issues such as stroke and dementia are also in our care scope.
Mental health disorders, including depression and anxiety, are part of our patient profile.
Patients undergo various procedures, including colonoscopies and minor surgeries.
Key job duties include assessments, care planning, and effective communication.
Proficiency with electronic health records is necessary.
Skills required include IV therapy management and wound care.
We utilize a range of equipment, including IV pumps and telemetry monitoring.
The nursing staff will float to other medical units as needed.
Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5-6.
Weekend shifts are included, with three shifts every four weeks.
Dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs.
Orientation includes general hospital orientation and nursing-specific training.
