Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary experience and at least 1 year of Medical Surgical experience at a large facility (450+ beds) License: Indiana RN license or compact Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Experience with diverse patient populations, proficiency in medical-surgical nursing care, and familiarity with electronic health records Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse to float among medical surgical units. Candidates must have significant experience in managing diverse patient populations with varying diagnoses including chronic illnesses and infections. The nurse will care for patients with complex medical needs including GI issues, neurological disorders, and mental health disorders. General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. The nurse will utilize electronic health record systems, IV pumps, and other relevant medical equipment. Communication and teamwork with other healthcare professionals are essential. 12-hour shifts are required with a rotation including three weekends in a four-week timeframe. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6. Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs. Candidates are expected to float to other medical units as needed. Training includes general hospital orientation and nursing-specific orientation, including necessary system training.
