Description:
The position involves caring for patients who have been discharged and require physical, speech, or occupational therapy.
The nurse will care for 5-6 patients during the night shift.
Patients may include those recovering from surgery, strokes, or those needing extended physical therapy.
The environment is team-based, collaborating with physical therapy and care management teams to plan for patient discharge.
Daily care activities are required, and some patients may need IVs or lab draws.
This is a non-telemetry unit.
The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, with varying weekly hours.
Weekend and holiday work is mandatory and requests must be pre-approved.
Candidates must be self-motivated and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and the ability to receive feedback are essential.
Candidates should be engaged and collaborative team players.
Travelling nurses may be floated to similar units when necessary.
Regular checking of departmental emails is expected for updates.
Consistent attendance is critical to unit operations.
The unit is expanding, creating multiple staffing needs.
