Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a centralized registry float position.
The role involves working in a Medical Surgical unit that caters to a diverse patient population with various diagnoses.
Common conditions include chronic illnesses such as COPD, diabetes, and heart failure.
The nursing staff manages gastrointestinal issues such as pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel diseases.
Infections like pneumonia, sepsis, and urinary tract infections are also part of the patient care responsibilities.
The unit cares for patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and traumatic brain injuries.
Mental health disorders such as depression and substance abuse are also addressed.
Patients may undergo procedures like colonoscopies, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries.
General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication.
Nurses will utilize the electronic health record system and various medical equipment.
Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6.
The position requires floating to other medical units as needed.
The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs.
Supplemental staff will participate in a comprehensive orientation program.
Nurses will work 12-hour shifts with three weekend shifts every four weeks.
