Description:
Schedule includes 36 or 48 hours with rotating shifts for days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
The unit specializes in patients (age 18 and up) requiring intensive symptom management at the end of life.
Strong IV and wound care skills are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate compassion and the ability to manage complex patient needs and families in crisis.
Astute assessment skills are mandatory to advocate for patients who often cannot communicate their needs.
The unit also accommodates general medicine overflow.
Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired.
A minimum of two years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience is required.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
