Description:
RN Clinic for general surgery operations.
The clinic consists of multiple providers serving adult patients only.
Average patient load is around 50 patients per day.
Each provider typically has two rooms available for patient care.
Common procedures include pre and post-operative care for surgeries such as gallbladder removal, appendectomies, colorectal surgeries, G-tube placements, hernia repairs, and bariatric surgeries.
In-office procedures may involve abscess incisions/drainage and colorectal scopes.
Position involves extensive in-basket management tasks including phone triaging, medication refills, answering patient portal questions, and completing FMLA and prior authorization paperwork.
Assistance with rooming patients is required, which includes taking vitals, conducting medication history reviews, and providing pre and post-surgery education.
Support is provided by medical assistants, other registered nurses, and patient service representatives.
Collaboration with multiple surgery providers is expected, with rotations through various clinics.
No weekend or on-call shifts are required.
Holiday expectations are not applicable.
Scrub colors should be professional, consisting of any solid color without graphics or logos.
The unit culture promotes a supportive environment among providers.
