Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment on a Medical-Surgical unit in Aberdeen, Washington. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population within a dynamic hospital environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a commitment to teamwork and adaptability, including the willingness to float to other departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for medical and surgical patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, observe changes in condition, and accurately document all findings.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate willingness to float to other units within the facility as required by staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in an acute care Medical-Surgical setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
  • Strong skills in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care.
  • Ability to operate standard medical equipment found on a Medical-Surgical unit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Shift Details
  • Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Days per Week: 3 days per week
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend off
  • Call Requirements: Not specified.
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 10, 2026
  • Opportunity to pick up additional shifts.
  • Requested Time Off (RTO) must be approved and will be added to the end of the contract.
Licensing Requirements
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license OR a multi-state compact license.
  • For multi-state compact licenses, the following verifications are required:
    • Approved 6-hour suicide training.
    • Verification of demographics from Nursys.
