Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,206 per week in Bottineau, ND

Provide direct patient care in an acute Med/Surg unit serving a 25-bed facility, managing a patient population that includes DM, MI, CHF, A-Fib, COPD, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and other chronic conditions with a large elderly population. Ability to work a rotating day/night schedule with modified self-scheduling; schedule is subject to adjustment to balance unit needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an acute Med/Surg unit serving a 25-bed facility, managing a patient population that includes DM, MI, CHF, A-Fib, COPD, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and other chronic conditions with a large elderly population
• Titrate drips including insulin, heparin, and other medications as indicated until patient transfer is warranted
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently using Philips telemetry equipment - no telemetry technicians on unit
• Perform ABGs, breathing treatments, and 12-lead EKGs without respiratory therapy support
• Access and de-access ports and PICCs, perform wound care and wound VAC management, and mix/prepare medications
• Float between Med/Surg, Swing Bed, and the Emergency Room as needed; must be flexible to fill scheduling gaps alongside permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Ability to work a rotating day/night schedule with modified self-scheduling; schedule is subject to adjustment to balance unit needs
• Willingness to participate in holiday rotation as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a swing bed or critical access hospital environment
• Comfort with emergency room care and cross-departmental floating
• Experience with wound VAC therapy and PICC line management
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
