Description: Unit provides care to adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses include stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputations, critical illnesses, and neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6 during night shifts. Charge nurses are present on each shift. Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1:10-15. Shifts include 0630-1900 and 1830-0700, with cyclic self-scheduling options. Nurses are required to work a minimum of every third weekend and at least two holidays during the assignment. Floating to MedSurg may be required. Strong communication skills, organizational skills, teamwork, innovative problem-solving, compassion, integrity, and collaboration are key attributes for success in this role. Artificial nails are not permitted. Candidates must be located outside a specified radius. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront as additional requests will not be approved.
