The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. There is a charge nurse available on each shift. Certified nursing assistants or patient care technicians will provide assistance with a ratio of 1:10-15. You must be willing to float to the MedSurg unit as needed. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are options available for shifts. Weekend work is required every third weekend. You may also need to work a minimum of two holidays per contract. A driver’s license is required for this position. The role demands a commitment to strong communication, organization, and teamwork. Failure to comply with policies regarding artificial nails will lead to termination of the contract. Charting will be completed using an EPIC system. There are no on-call or standby requirements for this position. Nurses must be prepared for classroom orientation and practical shifts on the unit. Retain time off requests are needed upfront and additional requests will not be approved. The hiring organization allows for cancellation of up to four shifts during the contract period.
