TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Des Moines, Iowa, 50325!
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
Administer and monitor drips including PCA and Heparin
Float across multiple campuses as required
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Expected to work 1-2 of the following Winter holidays unless the unit is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year
Required Qualifications
Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
PCA and Heparin administration experience
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission
BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross)
Valid Driver's License
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Post-operative surgical experience
Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery populations
Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
Completed Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry-specific skills checklist
