Description:
We are seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse for a night shift position.
The nurse will work with a reduced nurse-to-patient ratio utilizing a Virtual Integrated Care model.
The nursing ratio for Med/Surg will be 1:6 or 1:7, with support from a certified nursing assistant and a virtual nurse.
Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and orthopedic conditions.
Each shift has a charge nurse who also takes patient assignments.
There are no titratable drips except for Heparin.
Respiratory therapy is available 24 hours on the floor.
Centralized telemetry monitoring is provided.
Nurse aides or patient care technicians are present with a ratio of 1:6 or 1:7, supported by a virtual nurse at a 1:30 ratio.
Weekend and holiday shifts may be required as needed.
There is no standby or call requirement.
Floating requirements may include transitions to an intermediate care unit or burn unit.
Scrub color is navy blue.
The first week includes classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor.
Requests for time off should be submitted upfront.
The hospital may cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
Charting is done through an electronic system.
No BSN is required for this position.
