Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1+ year required License: Valid Michigan RN License required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: Travel experience highly preferred. Previous charge experience is beneficial. Willingness to float to other medical surgical units. Ability to manage multiple patients with a focus on discharge readiness. Description: The role requires working in a dynamic environment with high patient turnover. The nurse will be involved in constant reassessment of patient readiness for discharge. Staffing ratios are typically 1:5-6 at night. The nurse will float to other medical surgical units as needed. A mix of medical patients is expected in this unit. Teams include interdisciplinary support from various medical professionals. Nurses are required to work every other weekend. Holiday requests for time off will be discussed with management on site. The facility has a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and techs, working collaboratively. The position involves a diverse range of nursing skills, including medication administration and patient care management. Candidates must be able to handle surges in patient volumes and prioritize effectively. Experience with charting systems, particularly Epic, is preferred. Physical and emotional resilience is necessary to meet the demands of the role. Maintaining high standards of patient care and safety is essential.
