They ensure that patients and families receive individualized high quality and safe patient care. The role is supported through a shared governance model, with a framework for practice driven by professional practice models and evidence-based practice. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed and knowledgeable while upholding the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. The individual is expected to support service excellence goals while advocating for the voice of the patient and adhering to system policies. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. Utilizes evidence-based practice in care delivery and ensures coordination of care through effective partnerships. Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with specific characteristics, such as age and disease. Partners with patients and significant others, using appropriate methods for communication and updates on their care. Practices using current clinical standards. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration through effective communication methods and timely documentation. Participates in performance improvement initiatives to promote safe, quality patient care. Completes initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce. Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in research and performance improvement activities. Upholds all organizational policies and procedures, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Participates in data collection and engages in clinical questions related to evidence-based practice. Plans care proactively for patients across the care continuum. Participates in protocol development to achieve best practice outcomes. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all relevant policies and standards.
