TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Springfield, Illinois, 62781!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: PICC line management experience Experience with starting IVs Willingness to take care of trach and laryngectomy patients Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Description: Position available for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. Schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour shifts per week from 06:45 to 19:15. Nurses will work every other weekend and are expected to cover additional weekends as necessary. Travelers must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with first-time travelers accepted. BLS certification is required. Will float as needed to meet facility demands. Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred. Candidates must be willing to care for up to 1:7 patient ratios if needed, although this is not common. Candidates are expected to manage PICC lines and start IVs. Care for trach and laryngectomy patients is required, experience not mandatory but willingness to learn is essential. Position involves daily management and care for various patient diagnoses, including post-operative cases. Special equipment utilized includes intravenous infusion pumps, feeding tube pumps, and wound vacs. Nurses are responsible for procedures such as dressing changes, drain removals, and blood transfusions. Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and surgical drains is valuable.
