Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Care for patients with common orthopedic diagnoses including joint replacements, fractures, and related conditions
  • Work alongside a Charge Nurse available 24/7 and CNAs supporting a ratio of 1:7-8
  • Monitor telemetry as needed; RNs are not required to read strips independently
  • Utilize respiratory equipment (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) on an as-needed basis
  • Float as needed to other units within the facility
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in good standing
  • BLS certification (required)
  • Strong orthopedic nursing experience, including Total Joint Replacement experience (fracture experience alone does not meet this requirement)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (2-dose Moderna or Pfizer series, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a telemetry or orthopedic/surgical unit setting
  • Comfort with floating to similar med-surg units as needed
  • Familiarity with CNA-supported care team environments
