RNs are required to titrate heparin drips based on APTT results. Remote monitoring is conducted by monitor technicians for patients requiring telemetry. There is one charge RN on the floor who also manages an assignment. Patient care technicians are available to assist on the unit. The unit does not utilize vents, though intermittent BIPAP is present. Weekend and holiday scheduling typically requires one out of every two weekends. Floating may occur based on census, with external travelers being prioritized for floating assignments. Scrub color is navy blue. Charting is performed using the EPIC system.
