Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent Medical-Surgical experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong critical-thinking skills - Ability to adapt to available resources - Clinical approach across various responsibilities - Telemetry test required with two attempts to pass Description: Clinicians must use strong critical-thinking skills. They should adapt to the available resources. A well-rounded clinical approach is necessary across a variety of responsibilities. Telemetry experience is essential, with a test required to assess competency. Failure to pass the telemetry test after two attempts may result in contract cancellation. Experience in managing patients with diagnoses such as Congestive Heart Failure is preferred. Candidates should have knowledge in post-heart catheter care and monitoring after vascular procedures. Frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks will be expected. Skills in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management are required. Experience with IV start and maintenance is essential. Candidates may be required to assist with chest tube insertion and removal. Understanding infection prevention and isolation precautions is crucial. Phlebotomy experience is also important. All candidates must be comfortable working in a critical care stepdown environment. Communication and interdisciplinary support are integral to this role. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to collaborate with team members are key. Willingness to provide care to diverse patient populations is expected.
