Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to internal medicine patients on a Medical Surgical unit with a maximum capacity of 57 beds, encompassing a wide range of medical diagnoses
  • Maintain expected patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, with the understanding that ratios may reach 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights as needed
  • Utilize unit amenities including video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms to support patient care
  • Float as required to Medical Surgical and Medical Surgical/Telemetry units, including serving as a Patient Observer (Sitter) when assigned
  • Work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract period; holiday scheduling will be coordinated collaboratively to meet this requirement

Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Missouri or a Compact state (must be in hand at start)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Medical Surgical experience; 2 years preferred
  • Ability to work assigned weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and during inclement weather
  • Ability to take call and work the substantial time of the assigned shift for the full contract term
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to submit; candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CPI certification preferred (Blue Card required for Behavioral Health roles only)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system
  • 2 or more years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
