Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,157 per week in Columbia, MO

Provide medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients (16+) across a variety of admitting physician teams, including Neurology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Oncology. Work in a dynamic adult overflow unit that supports hospital-wide throughput across multiple specialty service lines, offering broad clinical exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients (16+) across a variety of admitting physician teams, including Neurology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Oncology
• Manage a diverse patient population with diagnoses including diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal disease, orthopedic fractures, and neurological deficits
• Perform general floor care procedures including IV therapy, lab draws, nasogastric tube management, and wound care
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation
• Float within the Med/Surg service line as required, including potential assignment as a Patient Observer (Sitter)
• Assume charge nurse duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or a Compact state (must be in hand at start)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred; familiarity with electronic health records required
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to submit; travelers residing 51-74 miles away may be considered at a local rate
• Local candidates are welcome to apply but will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial term

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad range of medical-surgical patient populations including cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic diagnoses
• Comfort with floating across units and adapting quickly to varying patient assignments
• Previous charge nurse experience
