Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit with a focus on medical rather than post-surgical cases, including patients in swing beds for extended rehabilitation stays
• Manage a patient assignment within a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a unit typically census of 15-18 beds
• Utilize EPIC for all clinical documentation and charting
• Float within like units of Medical-Surgical scope on a non-routine basis as needed
• Adapt to a dynamic environment; no high-acuity patients on drips are present on this unit

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience within Medical-Surgical specialty
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
• Must reside at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Experience caring for swing bed or extended rehabilitation stay patients
• Demonstrated ability to manage change, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain resilience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
