The unit also handles urological, orthopedic, and plastic surgeries, as well as specialty wound care and management of surgical drains. Staff-to-patient ratios are maintained at 1:6 to ensure quality care. Navy scrub color is standard for the unit. Visible tattoos are permitted as long as they are not considered offensive or inappropriate for a professional setting. Jewelry and body adornments must not interfere with job duties and should maintain a professional appearance. Immunity status for Hep B, MMR, and Varicella is required through either a titer or proof of vaccination completion. Documentation for TDaP, Influenza (or exemption request), and TB is also necessary.
