Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,134 per week in Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:7 patient ratio
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips as part of ongoing patient assessment
• Perform phlebotomy as required by unit needs
• Float to Med/Surg or other units and function in a support capacity as needed; unit assignment communicated at the start of each shift
• Complete mandatory Meditech EMR training in compliance with facility requirements prior to or upon start
• Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation schedules

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least one previously completed travel contract required - no first-time travelers
• COVID-19 booster vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious declination is on file prior to start date
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and interpret telemetry strips
• No time-off requests exceeding 7 days will be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Meditech EMR strongly preferred
• Experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting with moderate-to-high patient ratios
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, float between units, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
