The nurse will care for both surgical patients, including those undergoing total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, and general procedures, as well as medical patients.

Nurses are expected to monitor patients and collaborate with the healthcare team. Patient ratios on days are 1:5 and on nights are 1:6. The unit is equipped with respiratory therapy equipment, including CPAP and BiPAP. Registered nurses will confirm telemetry readings with the assistance of monitor techs. Weekend and holiday shifts are required every other schedule. There is a call or standby requirement for this position. Scrubs can be of any color. The charting system used is EPIC.
