Common medical patients may include individuals with CHF, CVA, SOB, or diabetic issues. The unit has a bed capacity of 61. The nurse-to-patient ratio during the day is 1:5 and 1:6 during the night. RNs are not required to titrate drips. The unit is equipped with CPAP and BiPap for respiratory support. Telemetry is available, with monitor technicians reading strips and RNs confirming them. Weekend and holiday work is required on an every-other basis. There is a call or standby requirement. Floating to other units is required. Any color scrubs are acceptable as per dress code.
