The average daily census in the unit is 14 patients. The unit primarily cares for short stay orthopedic, urology, and plastics surgery patients. A majority of the orthopedic population consists of joint replacement surgery patients. The nurse will be required to float within the service line as needed. Weekly staffing will include a patient ratio of 1:4-6. The position will require weekend coverage every other weekend. Additional experience with surgical drains, total joint replacements, and postoperative care is essential. Travelers must meet all compliance requirements before starting the assignment.
