Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedic/Neurology/Pediatrics Unit – Virginia

Start Date: September 7, 2026

Location: Salem, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day and night shift positions available; Patient ratios 1:5 to 1:6; 30-bed unit with potential expansion to 36 beds

  • Joint Commission Certified facility specializing in hip and knee replacement procedures
  • Diverse case mix including post-operative orthopedic, spine surgical, podiatry, and select pediatric patients
  • Collaborative team environment with 45 nursing staff members and comprehensive support including clinical coordinators, technicians, and unit secretaries
  • Meditech EMR system; standard equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
  • Consistently high patient experience scores measured through HCAHPS surveys

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • PALS certification preferred for pediatric patient care
  • Experience with post-operative orthopedic care preferred
  • Team-oriented mindset with positive attitude and strong patient advocacy
