We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital in Hilo, HI and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult patient population. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple patients with varying acuity levels. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative nursing team dedicated to positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately in the electronic health record
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing protocols
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns to the provider team as appropriate
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and discharge planning
• Coordinate care transitions including admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a safe patient environment by adhering to infection control and facility safety standards
✅ Requirements
• Active HI or Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred), Procedural Sedation (preferred), TNCC (preferred), ENPC (preferred) certifications
• 2+ years of Medical-Surgical experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Pay
Pay range: $2,124 to $2,181 per week.
Travel Med/Surg RN package: up to $2,181/week (36 hours) = $40/hour taxable + up to $741/week in travel reimbursements if eligible under IRS tax-home and expense rules.
Local package: $59/hour fully taxable ($2,124/week for 36 hours).
Overtime paid in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour laws and the assignment agreement. Actual compensation varies based on hours worked, assignment terms and travel reimbursement eligibility.
