**Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (Nursing)**
**Job Description:**
- Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit!
- **Unit Overview:**
- Focus on patients recovering from strokes and managing complex medical conditions.
- Common diagnoses include:
- Stroke
- Altered mental status
- Renal issues
- Dialysis
- COPD
- CHF
- Isolation cases
- General med-surg concerns
- Pneumonia
- Pulmonary issues
- **Shift Details:**
- Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Flexible scheduling with potential for diverse shift patterns
- **Floating Requirements:**
- Opportunity to expand your clinical skills by floating to various units as needed
- **Unit Specifics:**
- 64 beds in the unit, treating adult patients
- Utilize advanced specialty equipment, such as:
- IV pumps
- N/G tubes
- Feeding tubes
- **Candidate Requirements:**
- **Experience:**
- Minimum of 2 years in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
- Documented travel experience is a must
- **Skills Checklist:**
- Relevant skills matching specialty required
- **Certifications:**
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to start)
- **License:**
- Active NY License and all active RN licenses verified by NURSYS report
- **Additional:**
- Must provide a drivers' license with an address matching the submitted demographics
- RTO (Request Time Off) must be included at the time of submission
- EMR experience with EPIC is preferred
