Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS Required, ACLS Preferred Must-Have Skills/Experience: Medical Description: Weekly orientations are available. This position is for the Medical/Surgical department. The trauma level is undesignated. There are typically 36 weekly guaranteed hours. Weekend hours rotate typically every third weekend. There are no call requirements for this position. The nurse may float as a sitter to the Senior Behavioral Health Unit or to the ICU as a sitter if needed, but this is rare. The unit consists of 32 beds, with the census typically ranging from 10 to 20. Patient ratios are 4 to 6 patients per RN. Equipment utilized includes Baxter IV pumps and GE monitors. The electronic health record system used is Meditech. The supervisor for this position will be Alicia Pergande. The patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics. Common diagnoses treated include sepsis, pneumonia, heart failure, renal failure, and post-operative cases such as backs, joints, and general surgeries. Candidates should be flexible and possess good teamwork skills. Preferred skills include experience with post-surgical patients. The dress code requires scrub colors of navy blue, royal blue, Caribbean blue, black, or gray. Undershirts can only be black, white, or gray, and jackets must be scrub jackets. Unacceptable attire includes hoodies, sweatshirts, or fleece.
