Must-Have:
Will need to pass EKG exam.
Experience in Med/Surg, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, and Phlebotomy.
Competency in Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, and management of Spinal Cord Injuries.
Knowledge in Traumatic Brain Injury, Ortho trauma, and Total Joint Replacements is essential.
Experience with surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
Ability to perform isolation precautions, wound care, and utilization of wound vacs.
Must have experience with Level 1 Trauma care.
Description:
The role involves the provision of nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical trauma setting.
Patient ratios are maintained at 1:4 to 1:6.
The position requires weekend coverage every other week.
Daily patient care will involve a diverse range of conditions including acute care surgery and trauma cases.
Interdisciplinary support will be provided by various specialists including physical therapy and respiratory services.
The unit population primarily consists of geriatric trauma patients aged 55 years and older.
Nurses will float within scope to meet facility needs but will not be accommodated for block scheduling.
Travelers must adhere to a radius rule of no local candidates accepted within a specified distance.
Compliance with health and safety protocols is vital for all staff members.
