Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Registered Nurse license in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Positive attitude Flexibility Dependability Teamwork Self-motivation Good communication and people skills Desire for excellence Accountability Ability to multitask Ability to handle stressful situations Description: Candidate must have ACLS prior to submission. Unit has a total of 36 beds. Patient ratios are 1:6. Unit staffing includes 2 unit secretaries available from 0600-2200 daily. Patient care techs are utilized at all times, with the amount fluctuating based on census. Each room is equipped with telemetry monitors. Dynamaps are used for vital signs, along with glucometers and bladder scanners. iMobile phones are used for communication. The documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requires 12-hour shifts and includes every other weekend and holidays. Nurses may float to other units as needed. Hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and My Care Boards are part of patient experience requirements. Unit is certified in Pathways to Excellence and as a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. It operates as a Level II Trauma Center. Requested skill set includes strong nursing background and thorough assessment skills. Attention to detail is essential, especially regarding condition changes. Advanced skills in telemetry rhythm interpretation are needed. Procedures performed on the unit include PICC line removal and vas cath/temp cath removal.
