Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience: 1:6 Description: This is a night shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week. Staff members are expected to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations. Each staff member must be prepared to float to other units as necessary to meet staffing needs. On the first day, the RN will take a drug screening and then leave. The first shift will commence on the scheduled start date. Staff members are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, rotating every week. The unit is a 32-bed facility focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practices. Members of the team are expected to adopt new equipment and nursing practice models early on. Patient demographics include adults and geriatric patients. The daily patient census is typically around 30. Responsibilities include managing various patient diagnoses such as renal failure, diabetes management, and wound care. Key skills include managing central lines, feeding tubes, and hemodialysis, as well as administering oxygen and blood products. A commitment to safety and adherence to infection control protocols is essential. Compliance with vaccination policies is required, with specific exemptions outlined.
