Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a General Medicine Medical-Surgical unit serving a diverse patient population including GI bleeds, COPD, CHF, diabetes complications, ESRD, dementia, TIA/stroke, A-fib, hypertension, sepsis, and vascular conditions
• Maintain a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 in a telemetry-capable environment
• Collaborate with ancillary support staff including phlebotomy, EKG technicians, and CNAs to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Float to a sister campus as needed based on unit staffing requirements
• Charge nurse responsibility may be required, with applicable pay differential and training provided
• Contribute to a culture of support and mentorship, including interactions with students and new hires in a teaching environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (copy of Nursys/license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Complete work history with explanations for any gaps exceeding 90 days
• Completed Skills Checklist required at time of submission
• Must be available to work at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted in the candidate packet at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records system
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are currently being considered for this unit)
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and a mixed medical-surgical patient population
