Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care hospital located in Zanesville, Ohio. This role primarily involves providing specialized care on the Respiratory unit, which admits COVID-19 patients, while also requiring flexibility to float to various Medical-Surgical units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, and Observation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical acumen, particularly in telemetry and stepdown care, and be proficient in managing a diverse patient population. This position demands a proactive approach to patient care, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into different unit environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients primarily on the Respiratory unit, including those with COVID-19.
  • Float as needed to various Medical-Surgical units, delivering care to patients with diverse conditions such as wound care, stroke, oncology, cardiac, and observation needs.
  • Monitor, assess, and interpret telemetry readings accurately and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions thoroughly and accurately within the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of current and recent experience in Telemetry and/or Stepdown units.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and current experience with Epic EMR system; no refresher classes or 1:1 training will be provided.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Telemetry competency test on the first day of assignment.
