  • Weekly Pay:$2,050 to $2,250
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients
  • Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
  • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, intake and output, oxygen saturation, and other clinical indicators
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely
  • Monitor IV lines, central lines, drains, catheters, wound sites, and other patient-care devices
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and post-operative nursing care
  • Monitor patients with acute and chronic medical conditions and identify potential complications
  • Recognize changes in patient status and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and other members of the healthcare team
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, treatments, and discharge planning
  • Provide pain management and evaluate patient responses to medications and interventions
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions
  • Promote fall prevention, infection control, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and overall patient safety
  • Respond appropriately to rapid responses, emergencies, and code situations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, CNAs, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Support continuity of care and effective discharge planning
  • Follow facility policies, HIPAA requirements, infection prevention standards, and medication-safety procedures
  • Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives
Qualifications
  • Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current NIHSS Certification required based on facility requirements
  • Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
  • Experience caring for patients with multiple acute and chronic conditions
  • Strong medication administration and IV therapy skills
  • Experience with patient assessment, wound care, and post-operative care
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care needs effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Comfortable working night shifts
  • Commitment to safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
