Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions
• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate updates to physicians and the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting recovery and positive clinical outcomes

Requirements

• Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification preferred or required by facility
• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles, medication administration, and patient assessment
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate patient care
