Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Neuro – North Carolina

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, day shifts. Patient ratios of 1:5-6. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract with flexibility to discuss preferences. Float requirements apply within facility.
Highlights:
- Specializing in neurosurgical procedures and neurology diagnoses on a 36-bed medical-surgical unit
- Contract length flexible between 13-26 weeks based on candidate availability
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
- Two orientation shifts on unit following hospital-based orientation
- Blocked scheduling may be accommodated depending on individual needs - discuss during submission
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- BCLS certification required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications preferred
- Experience with telemetry, IV management, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
- Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Previous charge experience and neuro experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to float within facility and work storm team/hurricane team assignments during catastrophic events
