Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit (4SW) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Care for patients with diagnoses including colon surgery, Whipple surgery, cholecystectomy, liver resections, bariatric surgery, GYN surgery, mastectomy, hernia surgery, colitis, pancreatitis, abdominal pain, gastroparesis, bowel obstruction, and Crohn's disease
• Float to similar Med/Surg units as needed to support patient care
• Provide every other weekend coverage as required
• Complete pre-start orientation modules prior to assignment begin date

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Must be able to comply with facility fit testing requirements, including shaving to ensure proper mask seal; CAPRs and PAPRs are not permitted and no medical or religious exemptions are accepted
• Must complete an OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start date
• Travelers may not work beyond 1 year continuously at this facility; a 6-month break is required before returning as a traveler
• Must live more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible - local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; however, first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Experience with post-surgical and gastrointestinal patient populations
