Description
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
Care for post-operative patients, including monitoring and recovery support
Maintain and manage surgical drains and drainage systems
Perform dressing changes, wound care, and related procedures
Operate unit equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
BLS certification required - candidates without this will not be considered
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Ability to work night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for post-operative patients
Proficiency with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management
Familiarity with Meditech EMR
Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong patient advocacy skills
