Description:
This position involves working in a Medical Surgical unit.
The unit has a total of 23 beds.
Nurse-patient ratios are 1:4.
Common diagnoses include surgical patients, such as orthopedic, general, spinal, and gender reassignment cases.
Registered Nurses are required to read their own telemetry strips.
There is no requirement for titration of drips.
Nurse assistants are available with a ratio of 1:12.
Respiratory therapy equipment includes BiPAP and CPAP.
Shifts are 12 hours long, with a schedule of 3 days per week.
Weekend and holiday work may be required occasionally.
There is no on-call or standby requirement.
Floating to other units is not expected.
Nurses wear black scrubs, while nursing assistants wear grey.
The charting system used is MEDITECH.
