Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required License: Compact or state license required at time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Must be skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias due to floating requirements. - Will float to telemetry units. - Travel experience preferred but not required. - Candidates within 100 miles are not accepted. - Must expect to work during winter holidays, including anticipated scheduling on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve. Description: This position involves working on a general medical surgical floor. The nurse will be responsible for providing care for adult and geriatric patients. The unit serves patients awaiting facility placement. Daily census is approximately 23 patients. Patient ratios are 5:1 on days, nights, and weekends. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Compliance requirements include BLS, ACLS, EKG onboarding exam, and various competency exams. Experience in medical/surgical nursing is required. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate skills in non-invasive airway management and peripheral line care. You may also be required to float to adjacent hospitals as needed. This position does not have call requirements, but weekend coverage is mandatory with 7 shifts per contract. Previous charge experience is preferred, and candidates should be familiar with community hospital settings.
