Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: 2 years current medical surgical experience License: Michigan RN license required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - BLS and ACLS certifications must be current. - Current Medical Surgical skills checklist from the past year is required. - Supervisory signed reference from the past two years of employment is required. - Profile must include permanent address. - All time-off requests must be noted in the profile during submission. Description: Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing goals and objectives in a manner that helps others achieve their goals. Conducts initial and ongoing assessments, developing and updating the plan of care accordingly in collaboration with the patient. Provides and directs nursing care and evaluates outcomes. Uses technology appropriately, including safety standards and measures; follows infection prevention standards. Utilizes evidence-based tools, established policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice. Educates patients and family members and documents accordingly. Reports actual or potential occurrences according to established procedures. Engages in self-assessment, peer review, and completes mandatory education and competency assessments. Accepts responsibility for ongoing professional development. Participates in unit-based performance improvement activities and supports change. Behaves in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and ethical standards of nursing. Practices in accordance with the legal definition of nursing, including provisions on delegation and supervision. Requests for time off during the assignment must be noted and verified at the time of submission. Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered. Navy blue scrubs are required. Every other weekend and holidays may be required as needed.
