Description: This is a blended Med-Surg unit with a thriving Swing Bed Program. The unit also occasionally cares for patients requiring a Progressive Care Unit level of care. Assignments are balanced according to the nursing workload and patient care levels. The patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5 for Med-Surg, 1:5-6 for Swing Bed, and 1:3-4 for PCU based on specific needs. Nurses with a Med-Surg background are supported with assignments by supervisors. The shift schedule is from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other holiday and every other weekend.
