Conducts initial and ongoing assessments, develops and updates the plan of care accordingly in collaboration with patients. Provides and directs nursing care and evaluates outcomes. Uses technology appropriately, including safety standards and measures; follows infection prevention standards. Uses evidence-based tools, established policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice. Educates patients and family members and documents accordingly. Reports actual or potential occurrences according to hospital procedures. Engages in self-assessment, peer review, completes mandatory education and competency assessments, and accepts responsibility for ongoing professional development. Participates in unit-based performance improvement activities and staff meetings, supporting change. Behaves in accordance with mission, vision, values, and nursing philosophy. Practices at all times in accord with the legal definition of nursing in the State of Michigan, including provisions on delegation and supervision. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified at upload. No more than five days of requested time off will be accepted. No travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility will be considered. Dress code is navy blue scrubs. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.
